WETEX 2014 - Press release

Dubai, UAE, 6 August 2013: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) under the umbrella of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy will organise the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) which will take place on 14-16 April 2014 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. This meets the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, and President of DEWA.

The upcoming exhibition, billed to be the biggest to date, will occupy a space of 40,000 square meters, covering six halls, in addition to Zabeel Hall, and is expected to attract over 1,500 exhibitors from 40 countries, underlining the strategic position of the exhibition to serve as an unmatched meeting ground with professionals from within the electricity, water, gas, oil, renewable energy, and environment industries.

The exhibition, which will be held over three days, will also serve as a platform to stimulate dialogue on current issues in the region surrounding electricity and water technologies, solar power, nuclear energy, the rational consumption of electricity and water, protecting natural resources, and promoting sustainable development. The exhibition witnesses participation from local, regional, and international organisations and delegates, every year.

WETEX covers the electricity, water, gas, oil, renewable energy, and environment industries. We are currently carrying out roadshows across the globe to increase awareness of WETEX 2014, while driving interest among potential participants. The exhibition will once again see participation from leading public organisations including ministries, government organisations, municipalities, as well as national and international companies and public interest organisations, in the sectors of water, electricity, and environment,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA. “WETEX 2013 witnessed overwhelming response from regional and international sponsors, who work in the fields of electricity and environment in the Middle East region, recording nine strategic sponsors, 14 platinum sponsors, and 17 gold sponsors,” said Al Tayer.

The wide sponsorship for the exhibition underlines the trust of the private sector in WETEX as a unique platform to strengthen partnerships and improve businesses in the Middle East and North Africa. WETEX provides a great opportunity for exhibitors and sponsors to showcase their products and services for existing and potential customers. DEWA and the Supreme Council of Energy have opened the call for submissions for sponsorship applications for the 16th WETEX.
