Munich, May 2012. As part of this year's IFAT Entsorga, DEWA is working together with IMAG GMbH to organize another extensive information seminar on "Opportunities in Water, Electricity and Renewables in the U.A.E. – How to do business with DEWA".

As the primary decision-making authority in Dubai, DEWA is giving interested companies a chance to gather information about current projects as well as supply opportunities and tendering procedures in the sector for water, energy and environmental technology. The event is being supported by the VDMA (German Engineering Federation), the GWP (German Water Partnership e.V.), Bayern International, Birmingham Chamber, British Water and the Danish Water Technology Group.

Demand for water and electricity in the United Arab Emirates continues to grow at a steady pace. In some cases, current activities to expand the water and electricity supplies are unable to keep up with increased demand. The threat of supply bottlenecks is a constant problem. There is still a great deal to be done, particularly with regard to ongoing expansion of the infrastructure. The government's need to act and the resulting business opportunities for international companies are great. For example, in the water sector alone, the following measures are among those planned for the Hassayan Komlex: a 120 MIG (million Imperial gallons) water reservoir, a 100-km-long water pipeline, and a pump station with a capacity of 300 MIGD (million Imperial gallons per day).

To inform companies about the extensive range of business opportunities in the Gulf region, IMAG and the DEWA, the most important decision-making authority in Dubai, successfully established the information seminar on "Opportunities in Water, Electricity and Renewables in U.A.E. – How to do business with DEWA".

On May 8, 2012, Mr. Branly Nassour (Vice President, Water) from DEWA will be at this year's IFAT Entsorga to speak about concrete possibilities for business ties. Companies will have a chance to contact DEWA directly and gather information about planned projects and their tendering procedures.

WETEX - International Trade Fair for Water, Energy and Environmental Technologies in Dubai

IMAG has been present as a trade-fair organizer in the United Arab Emirates for quite a while. Among other things, its portfolio of events includes WETEX, the trade fair for water, energy and environmental technology that is held every year in Dubai and is sponsored by DEWA.

WETEX opens its gates in Dubai for the 15th time from April 15 – 17, 2013. In the past, it has developed into one of the most important information exchanges for political and administrative decision-makers in the sectors for water, electricity and environmental technologies in the Gulf region.

In 2012, a total of 1,089 companies from 28 countries presented their latest products and innovations on a total of 34,000 m2 of exhibition space at the International Convention and Exhibition Center in Dubai. Some 12,000 visitors from the entire Gulf region – predominantly from the water and energy sectors – attended the fair and the simultaneous conferences and workshops.

As the sponsor of WETEX, DEWA gives the event extensive support. Participating in the fair gives exhibitors preferential access to DEWA to gather information about how contracts are awarded and to present their products and services to DEWA decision-makers directly.

For international exhibitors, there are several joint national exhibits including those from China, Germany, Italy, Korea, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.
